QueerER is a vibrant one-day event exploring The Transformative Power of LGBTQ+ Education. This conference is for everyone working in education with an interest in LGBTQ+ inclusion, from early years and schools to further and higher education, as well as those involved in professional development and lifelong learning.

QueerER brings together researchers, practitioners and their allies, uniting those who teach, study, lead, and support education in all its forms. Whether your work is rooted in theory, practice, creativity, or community engagement, QueerER will provide a welcoming and safe space to share ideas, celebrate inclusive practice, and connect across sectors.

This conference is organised by ARU in partnership with University of Bedfordshire, University of Brighton (Centre for Transforming Sexuality and Gender) and University of Derby.

This event will bring together students, researchers, experts, and professionals to explore the latest discoveries, research, and innovations in behavioural biology, offering a unique opportunity for scientific exchange.

The theme for 2026 is Animal Behaviour in the Anthropocene. This year’s theme invites us to reflect on how human-driven environmental change is shaping animal behaviour across ecosystems.

We are offering tickets at a reduced rate for current students. To apply for this reduced ticket rate please email ecbb2026@aru.ac.uk with a letter from your supervisor confirming your student status. Once this has been received a code will be sent to enable you to purchase this ticket. These tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
