Introduction to Human Osteology - November 8-9 2025

Description

This is a 2 day beginner’s course aimed at students, professionals working in archaeology, heritage, or museum sectors, as well as anyone with an interest in learning about human osteology.

Course will provide an introduction to human osteology and will be delivered through a range of lectures and hands-on experience.

No previous experience necessary!

Areas covered will include:

  • Ethical considerations of working with human remains
  • Macrostructure and microstructure of bone
  • The human skeleton – basic anatomy
  • Human verses non-human skeletal remains
  • Estimation of sex
  • Estimation of age at death
  • Adult vs non-adult
  • Estimation of stature

Testing dates to be booked via Cambridge Centre for Sport and Exercise Sciences (office365.com) first before purchasing the ticket in this store. 

Options include:

1 Performance Test: £150 (incl VAT) 

Recommended for -  If you are interested in finding out where you are right now. 

2 Performance Tests (Save 5%): £285 (incl VAT) 

Recommended for - If you are training for a short-term event or are interested in monitoring the effects of an exercise programme. 

3 Performance Tests (Save 10%): £405 (incl VAT) 

Recommended for - If you are training for a longer-term goal (e.g. half marathon, marathon, triathlon) where monitoring each 3-4 months can be beneficial in tailoring your programme.

Bringing together researchers from around the world, this conference explores how digital technologies affect gender equality. It aims to identify the barriers and opportunities in the digital age, share effective research methods, and promote impactful intervention strategies.

Delegates will participate in a vibrant conference program, providing researchers from across the globe with a platform to exchange ideas, build collaborative research networks, and showcase their work within one of three key conference themes:

  • Cross-cultural trends
